Small Pieces, Big Difference

Following the successful pilot of Carnival@SMU held in 2016, Wellness Carnival was inaugurated in 2017 with the theme “Small Pieces, Big Difference” - signifying how each person only needs to play a small part by sharing their thoughts on organ donation, and adding each small act together could make a big difference for many others.
Mr Charles Chong (Member of Parliament for Punggol East Single Member Constituency (SMC)) was invited as the Guest-of-Honour. Being a liver transplant recipient, Mr Chong shared his transplant journey after he was diagnosed with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. He was very fortunate that his younger son able to donate part of his liver to him. Mr Chong also encouraged fellow Singaporeans to start thinking about organ transplants and donations, to plant a seed in people’s mind that this is something they can do to enable the dreams of patients suffering from organ failure to live on.
