The World Health Organisation defines wellness as the state of physical, mental and social well-being. Organised annually by the National Organ Transplant Unit in collaboration with multiple community partners, the Wellness Carnival seeks to provide residents with a centralised one-stop location to learn about wellness.
Through a wide variety of interactive and family-friendly activities ranging from game booths, outdoor inflatables and engaging information booths, the Wellness Carnival promotes adoption of a healthy lifestyle amongst residents, increases awareness of the benefits of organ transplantation, and encourages residents to consider acts of altruism which includes organ donation.
Through the years, Wellness Carnival has brought together the following partners: ActiveSG, Central Narcotics Bureau of Singapore, Health Promotion Board, Majlis Ugama Islam Singapore (MUIS), National Heart Centre Singapore, National Kidney Foundation, National University Centre for Organ Transplantation, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Singapore Red Cross, SG Cares, Singapore Eye Bank, Singhealth Duke-NUS Transplant Centre, Transplant TIssue Centre, Tzu Chi Foundation Singapore, Yishun Health and Youth Corps Singapore.
