Why must I share my decision
Organ donation after death is a sensitive and emotional issue, especially for family members who are grieving the loss of their loved one.

Most people support organ donation but their family members may not be aware of it. Start a conversation and share your decision with your family members today.
By sharing your intention to donate, your loved ones would be more prepared to accept and honour your decision – a decision which will help save lives and help others live on.
What should I discuss?
Ask yourself: Do I understand the laws on organ donation in Singapore? Does my family know my decision on organ donation? Do I know theirs?
You can:
Share with them your decision on organ donation. If you decide to pledge to donate additional organs / tissues or your whole body under MTERA, or even if you decide to do nothing and to remain under HOTA, do share this with your family.
Discuss with your family their own decisions on organ donation.
Share with them stories of organ transplant recipients who have benefitted from an organ transplant or organ donors who have lived on. Sharing true stories of those who have donated or benefitted from organ donation might help your loved ones understand your decision. Click here to read stories about our donors and recipients.
